Bringing Life to Frakture Bots

Ever wonder what is involved in bringing designs to life? Or in this case, bringing bots to life?! Step into our designer’s studio and take a look. It’s a laborious task bringing the distinct personalities out of the many bots in the Frakture Engagement Army, but oh so much fun.

Step 1. Sketches… Many, many sketches.
As you can see from this snapshot of sketches, many bots do not make the final cut off the drawing board. And many of the below went through several iterations before becoming the perfect bot. Some of the bots are the perfect amount of kitsch, while others are a little more on the serious side. Is that Worker Bot really modeled after a worker bee? Yep, it is! A social media bot (Chatter Bot) with megaphones as ears and a mic as a hand? Why not?

Step 2. Digitize the bots.
Once enough sketches have been developed into viable ideas, they are scanned into the computer. Now you might be wondering why they aren’t started on the computer with a drawing tablet. Well, some things we just prefer to do the good old fashioned way – with paper and pencil. The sketches are, however, cleaned up and refined using a drawing tablet. After that is done, the magic happens – inking. All of our bots are hand colored and shaded. Check out some of the before and after shots!

Step 3. Place the bots on a badass background.
Who knew putting the Frakture Bots into an old train yard would make our bots look that much cooler? Apparently we did. Meet your engagement army.

Step 4. Develop a bot to design the bots.
Nah, we will let the bots stay busy crunching your data. tacmeds.com Hope you enjoyed our peek into the designer’s studio.
